Arros Brass is a collective of some of London’s finest brass musicians, united by a passion for exceptional performance and musical versatility. Founded by Steve Thompson—an accomplished trombonist and composer who studied at Trinity College of Music and has created music for the BBC, 20th Century Fox, Channel 4, and beyond-Arrosa Brass brings a wealth of experience to every event.

Steve formed the collective alongside Richard Fox, Thomas Hewitt, and Helen Kuby, each a distinguished player in their own right. Together, they have performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies London 2012, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, and The O2 in London.

Helen Kuby

French Horn

Helen Kuby is a highly skilled French player who studied at The Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, and the University of Nottingham. Beyond her musical talents, Helen is also a passionate wine enthusiast, holding a WSET Level 3 qualification.

Richard Fox

Tuba/Arranger

Richard Fox is a talented tuba and sousaphone player and co-founder of the Kairos Ensemble.

Thomas Hewitt

Trumpet

Thomas Hewitt is an accomplished brass player who has performed at many of London’s finest venues. A specialist in period instruments, Thomas brings historical expertise and authentic sound to a wide range of performances.

Steve Thomspon

Trombone/Arranger

Steve Thompson is a highly accomplished trombonist and composer who trained at Trinity College of Music. He has created music for the BBC, 20th Century Fox, Channel 4, and many more. As the founder of both Arrosa Brass and his production company, Gullwing Arts, Steve brings decades of experience. He has twice served on the Opera panel for the Olivier Awards.
